One Month Old!!

 

Sara turned one month old last week!  She already weighs eight pounds, which means she is eating like a champ =) Life has certainly changed in the Newman household as we figured out how to feed her, bathe her, get her to sleep without us holding her, and changing a ton of diapers.  She seriously goes to the bathroom every five minutes...amazing!  We are really enjoying the changes though, because at the end of the day, we have a beautiful baby smiling up at us. 

 

Throughout the first month, we have been blessed to have so many visitors!  Sara has enjoyed being the star of the day and loved being held by everyone.  Below are some pictures of our visitors with Sara.

 I tried another photo session with Sara.  These are a few of the pictures that I thought were cute.  I think she was getting annoyed with me, so she finally closed her eyes and refused to open them =)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our first night out!

Jared and I attended the wedding of one of Jared's friends from high school this weekend.  Fern came to babysit Sara, so we left early and had a drink before the ceremony.  We had fun being out together, but were both happy to return home to the baby!

Then, on Sunday, my sister and her family came to meet Sara for the first time.  I was amazed that my 7 year old nephew was actually interested in holding his baby cousin!  My 3 year old niece also enjoyed putting the blanket on the baby and touching her feet =)  My sister is expecting her third child in July.  I am hoping for a girl!! We had a great day.

Sara's First Photo Session =)

Since we were stuck in the NICU at the hospital, Jared and I missed the hospital photographers coming around to take pictures. My friend Ali has been taking photography classes and has invested in a great camera, so we thought that we'd ask her to take a couple of pictures of the baby with Jared and I. The pictures turned out fantastic!! Below are some of my favorites.

1 Week Old!

Since Sara's release from the hospial, she has been thriving! She is a perfectly normal baby eating, sleeping, and going to the bathroom all day long. She was released from the hospital weighing 5 lbs 9 oz and she is already back to her birth weight of 5 lbs 13 oz. We brought Sara home from the hospital on Sunday, and Jared went back to work on Wednesday. My mom came to stay and help me on Wednesday and Thursday and Fern came on Friday. We spent the week trying to figure out the best way to organize the house to have everything we need when we need it. We realized quickly that we didn't have a place to put her down for a nap on the main level since we had the pack and play up in the bedroom. As a temporary solution, we set up a laundry basket for her to sleep in (seems to work so far!). By the end of the week, I think we are finally getting the hang of it! I am excited to see how it goes alone next week =) Below are some pics of Sara's first week at home.
