Sara meets Santa!

We took Sara to meet Santa yesterday.  I think she was a little underwhelmed (not nearly as excited as the other kids).  She didn't freak out though - just sat there with a blank stare =)

A busy Fall...

We've had a very busy Fall, traveling almost every weekend.

  • We started November going to my niece Olivia's baptism.  Sara had a great time playing with her cousins, even though we had to drive to VA (which is the worst drive ever!).
  • Jared and I finally made it up to Penn State to use our season tickets the following weekend.  It was a brutally cold game, but we had a great time shopping for Penn State gear and tailgating.

  • We spent Thanksgiving at my parent's house.  It was a wonderful time.  On Thursday, we participated in a 5K Turkey Trot (great way to start the day when you are planning to chow down the rest of the day!).  Then, on Black Friday my mom, sister, and my sister-in-law went to Ann Taylor Loft (my favorite store) in the morning and spent the rest of the afternoon at the Hershey Hotel spa.  Amazing!

  • That same weekend, we visited Jared's parents for Hanukkah.  We had lunch with his dad's family and then went over to his mom's for dinner.  Sara received wonderful gifts and had a great time visiting with the whole family.

Sara is 8 Months Old!

Sara turned 8 months old on Dec. 10.  She is an extremely happy baby who HATES to nap!  She always wants to be a part of the party.  This past week, she started to crawl.  She is so excited to be able to go wherever she wants to go... She still loves her bottle which is her primary source of food.  However, she is branching out and is eating yogurt, cereal (with applesauce), yellow veggies (with some green thrown in the mix), and fruit.  She doesn't have any teeth yet, so eating anything that requires chewing is still out.  8 months is a great age, because she is starting to have a real personality and play with toys.  Below are a bunch of cute updated pics.

Sara loves to stand up (she can't pull herself up yet, but can stand while holding things). This is a new push toy she got for Hanukkah (pardon the laundry in the background!).

Before bath - she loves to run around in her diaper!

After bath - all cuddled up!

Lauren's Wedding!

This past weekend, Jared and I (and my parents) attending one of my best friend's wedding.  Lauren and I have been friends since the 8th grade.  We played field hockey together in high school and spent every weekend together, along with our other girl friends.  Jared has since become good friends with her husband Evan and we couldn't be more happy for them!  We had a great night out and even splurged to stay at the hotel next door.  Sara was thrilled to spend the night with Uncle Kyle, Aunt Megan and their dog Tyson.

Thanks for curling my hair Megan - I loved it!!

My mom and I were matching =)

The venue was the Antique Automotive Museum in Hershey - such a cool place!  Below is a pic of all the Mechanicsburg girls...

Sara turned 6 months!!

Wow, time has flown!  Sara turned 6 months this past month.  She is eating baby food three times a day, drinking water from a sippy cup, cooing and jabbering most of the time, starting to "scoot" around the flooring, and giggling and playing with toys.  She is legitimately one of the happiest babies (the women at daycare are always loving on her!).  The only problem is that we can never tell when she is sick.  She seems to fine, playing and smiling, but all of a sudden has a temperature!  Being in daycare has definitely been a challenge to her immune system, but hopefully this will set her up to have better immunity in the future.  Otherwise, she has adjusted really well and loves to come home and cuddle with mom and dad.  Here are some cute pictures I've recently collected:

Happy Halloween!

We had a great time taking Sara over to our old neighborhood for trick or treating.  She was very excited to pick up a treat (mostly because of the sound of the wrapper), and Jared and I are excited to eat the candy (luckily we only went to a few houses)!  It was great to say hi to our neighbors and for Sara to play with the other kids.  Below is a picture of Sara with our old neighbor, Lila.

Lauren's Bachelorette Party

One of my best friends since the 8th grade is getting married to a wonderful guy next weekend!  To celebrate, we took a trip to the Finger Lakes in NY (known for their wineries).  We spent the day on a party bus going to different wineries and sampling wine.  It was such a great time, and I can't wait to celebrate with all of the girls again at the wedding.

Pumpkin Patch!

I have long awaited having a child to take to the pumpkin patch, so I was very excited to take Sara and spend a day picking out pumpkins.  The day turned out to be a very warm day (as opposed to the Fall day that I was anticipating), but we had a good time with our friends Jim and Colleen and taking a hay ride.
